Registered to Boston Mills Cemetery Board. The first burial was David Williams buried in May 1823 in the bark of a tree that killed him. The cemetery was marked out in plots in 1858.
The land was given by John Marshall for three grains of wheat, representing past, present, and future.
In 1896 it was enlarged by one acre bought from John Mountain. In 1908 the Graham lot was added and also the Clark lot.
The Sinclair plot was a private ground until the cemetery went into Perpetual Care in 1921.
The school property was bought and the school was made into a mortuary in 1969. In 1990 Boston Mills became a heritage cemetery. In 2002 it was enlarged by one acre bought from John and Julie Mountain.
At Boston Mills Cemetery, witnesses have seen ghost children playing tag among the gravestones and an apparition of a priest. Orbs, footsteps, rustling leaves and lights in the abandoned church also have been reported.
