Mike & Eric head to Florida's Treasure coast in the season one finale to investigate The House of Refuge— the last of the ten remaining outposts established in 1876 that still stands. These outposts were dedicated to rescuing surviving victims from ship wrecks. The East Coast sea floor is riddled with the remains of sailing ships, their crew and even treasure that still remains unaccounted for to this very day. This area is known to seafarers for navigating its dangerous shoals, shallow reefs and harsh weather conditions. These remaining buildings are said to be one of the most haunted locations in the state.
Witnesses have reported the sound of footsteps, sightings of multiple apparitions, and even the smell of cigar smoke that is said to be from the spirit of one of the first keepers that lost his life on this property.
