Huntaphobia brings and investigation on GREEN BELT DRIVE.
It was a terrible tragedy that left a young boy an orphan and likely to be forever haunted by the actions of his own father.
Crews arrived to find an apartment unit in flames at Green Belt Drive, and a search for survivors the next day turned up a grim toll – three bodies were still inside the burned-out residence.
Two of them died, especially gruesome deaths, but it had nothing to do with the fire.
One of the victims was 46 years old – the young boy’s mother – succumbed to what police call a ‘penetrating stab wound’ to the heart.
The child’s 70-year-old grandmother was the victim of strangulation.
The man police suspect put all this carnage in motion was only 41 years old and is the only one who died as a direct result of the fire he’s believed to have set. The autopsy showed his end came due to smoke inhalation.
It may never be known what set off this tragic chain of events that has torn a family apart forever. Court documents show the man was convicted of assaulting and threatening to kill the 46-year-old back in 2005. But relatives say the couple had reconciled and were getting along much better.
It's a very sad story and hopefully all involved are resting in peace.
